Where am I? Accomplishments: Living with my husband Jeff of 38 years in Burlingame, CA, south of San Francisco. Having retired from various business management roles, I am currently a part time online administrator for a small international non-profit. Volunteering as leader and coordinator for my local church. Trying to stay fit for skiing and tennis. Recently learned Tai Chi as a new project. Who's in my life? My husband Jeff and I love to explore the world and experience new cultures. Two amazing kids in their 30s. Finding meaningful work and partnerships and currently living in the Bay Area. My parents passed away in their 90s in Madison. Jeff's parents live in the Bay Area and are in their 90s. My three sisters and one brother live around the US, Jeff's parents, brothers and their families are all in the Bay Area. What did high school have to do with Life? Advise to my kids: Some weird skill or project that you had in high school (leading the French club??) may turn out to be a life-long super-power. (international / global advocacy) A random extra class that you took (e.g. high school Physiology) may impact your outlook on the world. Scientific method helps me feel good about the continuous practice of assessing what's real and how things (including my aging body) work. People you hung out with in high school (tennis team, math club, French club, etc.) may still be on your holiday greeting list 50+ years later! Some of them may support you in your important life-events (kids' commitment ceremonies, parents' funerals |

I attended UW-Madison after high school. I graduated with a degree in Communication Arts specializing in film and television. I worked at the public television station in Madison 1981-1983 before moving to San Francisco, California. I eventually became the Television Program Director for the San Francisco, San Jose and Monterrey public television stations. I retired in 2015 and returned to Wisconsin to be with closer to family. My work allowed me to work with many famous celebrities and talented artists. I traveled frequently abroad to find the best programs for my audiences. My film background also allowed me to travel to film festivals around the world. I selected all the feature films that aired on PBS nationwide. I had a life changing event in 1989. That was the year of the Loma Prieta earthquake. I should have been on the bridge that collapsed and killed many people including my next door neighbor. I realized we are on this planet for a short time and never took anything for granted from that moment on. My wife (who went to Madison West) and I decided we wanted to grab life by the horns and live life to the fullest. Our goal was to travel around the world to collect amazing experiences and meet fascinating people. We have been to nearly every country Europe including Russia, the Amazon in Peru, three visits to Australia, seven safaris in Africa, and our most amazing adventure Antarctica. We're experiencing everything life has to offer. |

I still umpire baseball. Started in Kenosha Wisconsin at 16 years old in 1975 in the summer little league. Decided in 1984 to attend the Harry wendelstedt professional umpire school. Became an alternate in the Midwest league and did several Kenosha twins games. Also a playoff game between the twins and the Appleton foxes. 1985 attended wendelstedt school again. I did not receive a contract. I decided to move to Phoenix AZ. Where I continued my college baseball to a higher level. Doing division 1 2 3. NCAA, NAIA, JR, College over the northwest for 15 years. My contract not renewed in 2002. During this time I umpired HS BB and youth BB. I also got an opportunity to coach HS BB Jr. Varsity team .Taft HS Lincoln City for 3 years 95,96,97. During this time I coached Babe Ruth and my son's soccer. I met My wife Gina and stepdaughter in 1999. May 31st 2000 Gina and I got married. Gina my daughter and I moved to Stevenson WA. Where we continued our landscape company. Retiring 2018 and residing back in Portland Oregon. Gina and I still happily married. She spends most of her time with grandson Jakob (Maegans son). And care giving an older family member. Aye spend time on my 30' Newport sailboat with my 2 -10 month old kittens in Hayden bay Marina jantzen beach Portland Oregon. Also umpirering BB on a daily basis. We both look forward to coming back to mad City to see everyone. |
